Natural Relief from Depression with Gender Brain Science™

Gender Brain Science™ is an amazing new method that draws on scientific research that you can apply to your own life. And don’t worry, you don’t need to be a science whiz to do this. You just need to understand a few basic principles. Here are the key things to know when it comes to feeling depressed.

Depression Is Different for Men and Women

Even though men and women’s brains are 90% the same, there is a 10% difference. And this 10% makes a big difference! A man’s brain needs dopamine to keep him from feeling depressed. Women, on the other hand, need serotonin to help them feel emotionally and psychologically well.

The mind uses serotonin to calm down and relax. Too much stress in women uses up too much serotonin. And since women are under so much stress, their bodies don’t have enough serotonin to keep them feeling calm and relaxed. This can lead to feeling depressed.

Focus on Increasing Serotonin If You’re Feeling Depressed

If you’re feeling depressed, you may not be interested in finding and taking pleasure. As much as you want to feel great again, you know you can’t magically force yourself into feeling good with your favorite hobbies.

Trying to force your way out of depression is actually stressful, which will only deplete your serotonin levels even more. So, instead of focusing on breaking free of depression, think about lifting your serotonin levels.

This mindset shift is important because when you’re feeling depressed, you often feel fatigue and tired. So, instead of feeling frustrated with yourself because you’re feeling depressed, think about being very gentle and compassionate with yourself.

The Gentle Support of Serotonin-Boosting Activities

Here are some cozy, nurturing ways to care for yourself and raise your serotonin levels.

  • Pamper Yourself

Relax with a nice massage, manicure or pedicure. Or, create a spa experience with bubble baths and facials.

  • Create Calm

Bring a breath of fresh air to your mind, by trying a gentle meditation practice, learning breathing techniques, or trying yoga. If these activities are relaxing to you, they will help lift serotonin levels.

  • Open Up to Spirituality

If you’re open to spiritual things, make time for prayer, meditation, contemplation, or even journaling. It can sooth an unsettled spirit and bring comfort.

These are only a couple of ways to raise your serotonin levels and bring natural relief to your depression. If you’d like even more easy and effective tips, sign up for my free eBook and learn to naturally relieve your depression today.
